Location, ambience & service
I have heard so many good things about Betty’s Burgers, so I was very excited to try them out for lunch with a friend and my sister in the beautiful Chermside dining precinct.
The restaurant is nothing special – dine and dash – and there is quite a strange (but definitely effective!) lining up system. You need to line up and order before you are seated, and there is a dedicated waitperson to seat you.
The staff are very friendly and attentive, which is much appreciated and rare to find in a quick lunch option.
I ordered the Crispy Chicken Supreme burger – southern fried chicken, lettuce, bacon, cheese, tomato and special sauce ($15.00) and a side of fries to share with my sister ($5.00). I found both the burger and fries to be a little expensive compared to other lunch burger options. I also thought the fries were over-seasoned, and the burger to be slightly too greasy. However, I think these things are to be expected with a quick burger option for lunch. I did enjoy my meal overall.
We also ordered a peanut butter thick shake to share ($8.00). Unfortunately the peanut butter flavour was not very prominent, and was really nothing special (particularly for the expensive price).
I wouldn’t return in a hurry, given the number of great lunch options there are at Chermside, but it hit the spot for a mean burger!
